How to get a return to AliExpress

The buyer has the right to request a refund at AliExpress at a different stage of execution of the order.

The order has not yet been sent

If you just made a purchase, but immediately changed your mind, then you have time to cancel the order. You just need to go to the page, find the desired order and activate the button - “Cancel the order”. At this stage, the buyer has the right to refuse to buy without the possibility of a seller’s refusal. If the buyer cancels the order immediately, AliExpress processes information about payment. The customer will need to wait a few days so that his money will come back.

The customer confirmed the payment of the order

If you have already confirmed the payment, but then changed your mind and want to return the money, then you need to do the following:

• return to the page where the purchase was issued;
• Find an active order and click the “Eliminate Order” button;
• in the section “reasons for the refusal” to indicate “other reasons”;
• Write to the seller and explain why you canceled the order, and ask him to accept the cancellation.

At this stage, the seller has the right not to accept the cancellation, so he must provide good reasons.

The order has already been formed and sent to the buyer

The only option to obtain compensation appears if the received goods do not correspond to the description or at the order does not reach the recipient. Let us dwell on these cases.

The buyer did not receive an order

If the delivery of the parcel is executed longer than expected, it should be remembered that there is a period of order protection on AliExpress (60 days after sending). This is especially important, because if the indicated period is over, then the online platform will automatically mark the order as delivered, and the buyer will no longer be able to use his rights. If the estimated delivery time is approaching, and the order has not yet been received, the next algorithm must be performed:

• if certified delivery is issued and you have a tracking track for tracking, you need to copy the code and check in the tracking section where the order is currently located;
• If you do not have the possibility of tracking, then you can clarify with the seller: at what stage of delivery is the order;
• If you do not receive an answer within 3-5 days, then open a dispute with the seller.

The order came, but it does not match the description

If the product that you received does not correspond to the description on the site, you should open a dispute, and after a while, you can receive your money back. The reasons for the refusal may become:

• the goods are rumpled or broken;
• the device does not work;
• there are no parts;
• the color does not correspond to the description specified on the site;
• Dimensions do not correspond to the parameters.

Depending on the case, you can get a full or partial return.

Important! If the product cannot be returned for free, then the best option is to request a full return of money. If the buyer wants to exchange goods, then he is fully responsible for the costs of transportation, sometimes they can cost more than the product itself.

How long is the "Return processing"

It is important to understand that the return of funds cannot be carried out instantly, it is processed within a few working days. After the return is issued to AliExpress, the money is returned to the buyer within 1-3 weeks, depending on the bank. The return period begins after the online platform processes the application, and you will see in the status of return 3 orange points. By clicking on the order, the buyer can familiarize himself with the information about the date of completion of each stage, and calculate how much time passed after the refund is issued if the application is under processing.

It must be borne in mind that on Christmas holidays and during sales the process of returning funds takes more time.

How to clarify whether your money has returned

If the buyer doubts whether an application for a refund was processed, there is a way to find out at what stage your request is.

You need to open a list of orders and see its details, go to the “Payment” or “Finance” tab.

In these sections, you can see whether the return process was initiated or is already completed. If you use a mobile application, then you can perform the same actions: go to the details of the order and activate the “Return Information Information” button. You will open the same information as in the usual browser. If you are paid by a bank card, then a unique ARN code should appear in the section, which identifies operations from the buyer’s card. If you have not received a refund, you can contact the bank, provide the code and clarify the data on operations.

AliExpress does not return the money

What to do if you are waiting for a return, but money does not come? First of all, you should check the status of compensation and mark the “Payment” tab. If a small amount of time has passed, you should wait a few more days. If all the set deadlines have ended, and the money did not return to the buyer’s account, a simple decision is to check the Arn code, which we had already talked about earlier. With the help of a unique number, you can clarify in your bank: whether funds have been received in your personal account. Another piece of advice is to close carefully with the movement of funds on your card, sometimes the refund occurs on the day of the purchase, and it may remain simply unnoticed. Often this situation happens if you make a lot of orders on AliExpress.

The buyer received money not in full

 AliExpress offers to pay for purchases in euros and US dollars. How can I get a refund if I paid for the purchase by a credit card, Alipay ...?

You can get money in the same way of payment that you used to make a purchase. Since the most common payment options for AliExpress are a debit or credit card, the money will be sent with a positive symbol indicating that this is a return.

If you had to cancel or change the card with which the purchase was issued, then you should contact the bank. As a rule, funds are received on a new card or bank account. AliExpress independently cannot change the data in the account, which is indicated for return, as this would be a violation of safety rules.

You will receive reimbursement taking into account payment methods:

• debit or credit card - funds are received on the same card;
• PayPal - compensation is performed on the source account;
• Alipay - funds appear on the balance sheet of the buyer.
