When should I confirm my package receivement on Aliexpress?

You may notice the “Confirm order received” checkbox while going through your purchases list. It’s totally okay if you don’t fully understand the meaning of it, but you obviously should know the details if you plan to keep using the Aliexpress app. 

You should use this function only after successfully picking up your parcel and checking if it’s fully alright. Everything should look as described and work properly. It’s okay even if you didn’t use it, since Aliexpress may confirm your order automatically after the certain term passes. You may see the details on your “Account” page or order list to get a short instruction.

“Confirm order received” meaning

Right after the seller sends your order, its “Pending shipment” status changes to “Shipped”. That’s when the “Confirm order received” function automatically appears.

The main purpose of this option is releasing the payment of your purchase to the seller and notifying him about successful pick-up of the parcel. 

Confirming receipt is shortening the protection time

Every buyer has 15 days to open a dispute after confirming their order as received. In this case, you won’t wait for Aliexpress to automatically confirm your order, so the protection period will be shortened, and you’ll have fewer days to ask for a partial or full refund. 

Beware of confirming

Do not click on the “confirm the receiving” button just because you have the opportunity. Confirming is necessary only after you pick up your package, open it and check if everything is okay. Before receivement confirmation, you should make sure that parcel came up correctly and there are no inconveniences with carrier service. 

Should you confirm the receiving even if you already got your goods

It’s not advisable to do so, even after getting your package. Make sure that you ain’t got any problems with your order. 

If you purchased any kind of clothes or accessories, you can try them on and decide if you’re satisfied. In that case, you can confirm your receivement without any doubts. You should thank the seller for the quality and their work as soon as possible.

On the other hand, while buying technology products or heavy power tools, you need to check twice if they work properly. This is why you should wait until Aliexpress confirms your order automatically, so you get an additional 15 days to open a dispute. 

Confirmed my order by mistake

Some users confirm their purchases accidentally. Even though you gotta be careful since you can’t cancel the confirmed order, you don’t need to worry: Aliexpress shipping became much faster nowadays, so you’ll possibly get your package in the next 15 days anyway.

It’s better if you’d be able to check your order condition before the protection term expires, since it may be hard to get a money refund otherwise. 

Warning from Aliexpress

Everytime you confirm a receivement of your package, you get a warning from Aliexpress that you won’t be able to open a dispute right after clicking the button. Some time ago it was true. Buyers didn’t had any additional time for protection after confirming their orders, but it’s changed nowadays and you shouldn’t be scared. 

It’s obviously wrong, since you have another 15 days in stock to ask for a money refund if something isn't right with your purchase.
